Not only did British fans enjoy an electric MotoGP™ fight for victory at last year’ s home race— they also witnessed Jake Dixon score a brilliant triumph in the Moto2™ category, one of only four home wins at Silverstone in its spells as host of the British Grand Prix.

Dixon joined Ian McConnachie( 1986, 80cc race), Scott Redding( 2013, Moto2™ race), and Danny Kent( 2015, Moto3™ race) in a select band of riders to have won their home Grand Prix at Silverstone.
And he’ ll be aiming to do it again in 2025, not least because he’ s currently locked in an exciting three-way fight for the Moto2™ World Championship with Manuel Gonzalez and Aron Canet— not that he would tell you. All year, Dixon has remained level-headed through both the good and bad times.
“ These boys are fast and we go to so many different styles of tracks in different countries that aren’ t always going to be suited to your style,” Dixon said.“ You need to keep your expectations low. If you can exceed them, it’ s a big positive. I always come in with the aim of fighting for the top five. If we can get that, great. Any more is a bonus. I’ ve learnt the hard way over the years and had a lot of injuries.”
The 29-year-old from Dover quickly became enamoured with the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team after joining at the close of 2024.
“ Everything’ s working well. It’ s great working with Lucio( Nicastro – crew chief).( In testing) we worked through everything and didn’ t get ahead of ourselves. Look at what( Marc VDS has) done in the past – they’ ve had so much success. They’ re doing everything right,( which) is why I feel they’ re the best Moto2 team in the paddock.”
On the back of Boscoscuro’ s impressive 2024 form, which resulted in Ai Ogura’ s title success, Marc VDS is one of four teams running the Italian chassis this term after switching from Kalex.
“ There are so many positives to the bike. But there are also negative areas we need to work on as well. Once we unlock them, I feel the world will be our oyster. The support from Boscoscuro is fantastic. Everyone’ s data is open. Day by day, we’ re getting faster.”
