A good Museum

One of the main elements of a good museum is the impact of the experiences and the atmosphere evoked within it. For example, The United States Holocaust Museum in D.C. offers a unique and emotional museum experience. The museum consistent of four floors where guest goes through a chronological journey of the holocaust. Upon entering the museum, guests are given an identification card of a real victim of the holocaust and as they journey through the floors they get to find out what happened to their person at each phase. Seeing a person's entire journey, filled with loss and pain, really makes the experience raw and memorable. The interactive exhibits within the museum, such as walking into a train car that would have held approximately 100 victims, creates strong emotional responses. Standing in that cart makes viewers reflect on the nature of humans and mourn the lives lost. The United States Holocaust Museum is one of the best museums as far as making the collections and exhibit create a lasting impression on those who enter.

Another museum that creates a memorial environment is the Air and Space Museum on D.C.'s National Mall. The museum, from the industrial design to the planes and spaceship parts that a litter through the museum, is the embodiment of stem. The museum uses its large exhibits and displays to create this atmosphere of innovation and emphasizes the magnitude of human discovery. The Air and Space Museum also has more interactive exhibits, like flight simulations, touching space rocks, and the planetarium experience. Moreover, Villa Borghese in Rome is one of Rome's most effective museum. The museum is timed, which limits the number of people as a way of creating a more intimate and personal experience for the guests. Museums in Rome are extremely crowded so this policy is welcomed one. Also, museums in Europe, especially in Rome, Paris, or London, are extremely crammed with ancient art and as such become overwhelming. The Villa Borghese, in contrast to the Vatican or the Louvre, feels cohesive throughout as the categorization are extremely specific. The Vatican and Louvre are huge and their enormous collection overwhelms guests and really takes away the impact that these ancient pieces have. The longer a person spends in those museums the more the art seems to blend in and become generic. The Villa Borghese's smaller collection really allows the guest to feel the greatness of the vocal pieces. Overall, the intimate and cohesive feel Borghese makes the experience more enjoyable and impactful.

In summation, the way a museum is organized really determines how memorable and effective it is in achieving its purpose. More is not always better and sometimes simplistic and authenticity creates a more lasting impression on guests.
