Minnesota Military Museum and Library
Discover the stories and contributions of Minnesotans who served and sacrificed, from our state’ s earliest years to the present, in all branches of service and on the home front at the Minnesota Military Museum located just inside the main gate of Camp Ripley, north of Little Falls. Outside exhibits for the kids to play on include tanks and wheeled vehicles, a Jeep exhibit, along with helicopters, planes and cannons. Permanent indoor exhibits for all ages include America at War, covering America’ s major wars since statehood in 1858, State Forces, Minnesota’ s Armed Forces and National Guard, Forts on the Frontier, early Minnesota forts and garrisons, The Arms Room, with a large collection of military small arms and machine guns and The Honors Exhibit, Minnesotans who received the Medal of Honor and military decorations past and present. New is the lending library with 15,000 books available to the general public. The museum is open daily from May 1 to Sept. 30, including all national holidays from 10 a. m.- 5 p. m., and Thursdays- Saturdays from Oct. 1 to April 30, from 10 a. m.- 4 p. m., except for national holidays. Rolling Hills Greenhouse Implement and Museum
Kevin Happke of Pierz collects antique farm equipment and has set up an agricultural history museum he calls Rolling Hills Greenhouse Implement and Museum. Some of the pieces are on display at Rolling Hills Greenhouse, 321 Main Street North in Pierz, but most will be displayed in a barn he built on a piece of property across the street. His collection features antique farm equipment, that date back to the 1920s, as well as collectible pieces, such as farm toys and more. The collection also features a 1950s International Harvester Farm Dealership, including dealers sales counter and parts, sales catalogues, as well as McCormick Deering pieces. Tours of the museum are open by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling( 320) 468-6474 or via email 321main @ gmail. com. No admission is charged, but a freewill offering is accepted.
Royalton Historical Museum
The Royalton Historical Museum contains displays of Royalton’ s rich history from incorporation in 1887, to present. Located on the north end of the city complex, 12 North Birch Street, the museum is open by appointment. For more information call( 320) 584-5900.
St. Francis Convent
The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota, a religious community founded in 1891, has been serving the people of Morrison County and around the world for over 130 years. St. Francis Campus once housed a hospital, orphanage, nursing home, school of nursing and girls’ high school. The sisters transferred ownership of the hospital and nursing home in 1993 to another Catholic healthcare entity. Today, St. Francis Campus is home to St. Francis Music Center, St. Francis Health and Wellness Center, Franciscan Gift Shop and St. Clare Library all of which are available to the public. The campus is located on the south end of Little Falls, just off Highway 10, at the intersection of Haven Road and Eighth Avenue SE.
