Bowlus Fun Day, 12 hours of non-stop fun, July 5
BOWLUS— Bowlus Fun Day returns Sunday, July 5, with a full day of music, food, games and smalltown fun.
The event, sponsored by the Bowlus Fire and Rescue and Bowlus First Response teams, runs from noon to midnight at Bowlus City Park. Bowlus is located on Highway 26, five miles west of Royalton.
The day begins with an outdoor polka Mass at 10 a. m. on the grounds of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
The parade down Main Street follows at 11:15 a. m. Call Phil Rudolph at 320-232-0965 for parade details.
From noon to midnight, visitors can enjoy continuous music, activities, rides, games and food for all ages at the park. Activities include kids’ games, Bowlus Fun Line rides, pull tabs and refreshments. Gene Retka will provide polka music from 12:30-
4:30 p. m. in the covered band shell. Radio Nation will play from 8 p. m. to midnight, with fireworks planned at dusk. For information, call Lucas Boyd at 320-492-8856.
Harding Days returns with rodeo Aug. 28-29
The fourth annual Harding Days will be held Aug. 28-29 in Harding, Minnesota.
The rodeo gates at JJ Legacy Cattle Co. will open at 7 p. m. on Friday, Aug. 28.
On Saturday, Aug. 29, the day begins with a breakfast of sandwiches and burritoes at the Harding Community Center at 9 a. m. on Saturday, the parade follows at 11 a. m. There will also be music in town and daytime activities for all ages throughout the day, including bounce houses and a petting zoo.
The rodeo at JJ Legacy Cattle Co. will be at 5 p. m., followed by a street dance to a live band and later, fireworks at 10 p. m. Please follow the Harding Days Facebook page for more information.
Hillman Fourth of July Parade
The city of Hillman touts its Fourth of July parade as“ The biggest parade in the smallest town.”
The 11 a. m. parade lasts for at least 1 1 / 2 hours and includes floats, cars, tractors and more.
The afternoon typically includes an American Legion ball game afterward, horseshoes, a variety of food and beverages, games for kids, ice cream social, craft fair and softball and horseshoe.
