Competitively Supporting Scientific Discovery
Michigan State University is one of the top research
universities in the world. Research and scholarship serve
as MSU’s foundation for exceptional education, outreach
to the public, interactions with business and communities,
and patient care. The culture at MSU has long emphasized
interdisciplinary research.
In the spirit of increasing research opportunities,
the College is fully vested in supporting junior faculty
researchers on the road to a tenure position. While nationally
funded, our nurse scientists are supported throughout their
careers with a dedicated research team. And, PhD students
move in scholarly directions conducting cutting edge
research in collaboration with nationally acclaimed nurse
research mentors.
Competitively contributing to the science of nursing,
the College is 12th in the nation in receipt of NIH grant
funding for FY2013.
The NRC is located in the new Bott Building for Nursing Education and Research,
providing a nucleus for research activity. To facilitate the pursuit of knowledge,
facilities include a research collaboratory, a PhD collaboratory, research conference
rooms, dedicated interview rooms, research faculty offices, and 60 modular pod
workstations for project teams. The latest technology provides for state-of-the-art
communications and makes specialty software available to researchers.
