CHARLOTTE S’ÉPANOUIT
GRÂCE À DES SOINS EXPERTS
J
cond enfant. Malheureusement, les choses ne
se sont pas passées comme espéré. Quelque
CHARLOTTE THRIVES
THANKS TO EXPERT CARE
J
ennifer and her family were eagerly
awaiting their 20-week ultrasound,
when the gender of their second child
would finally be revealed. Sadly however,
things did not go as expected – something
alerted the technician during her exam.
“She noticed a couple of signs that were
typically associated with spina bifida,”
Jennifer explains.
Jennifer was referred to the Montreal
Children’s Hospital of the McGill University
Health Centre, where a fetal MRI at 24 weeks
confirmed the diagnosis: Jennifer and her
husband Dan’s baby girl had spina bifida type
4, the most severe form of the condition. gg
