Monticello High School to send off 363 graduates
MONTICELLO— On the evening of Friday, June 6, Monticello High School’ s 138th graduating class of 363 students will earn diplomas to join more than 14,224 alumni who have participated in MHS’ s traditional commencement ceremony.
Graduation day kicks off with rehearsal at 10 a. m. Later that evening, students and advisors will gather at 6:15 p. m. for the commencement ceremony, which begins at 7 p. m. at the high school’ s stadium.
During graduation, all 15 valedictorians will have the honor of addressing their classmates, staff and parents. These students have maintained a 4.0 grade-point average throughout all four years

The 2025 MHS valedictorians are: Shayne Beucler, McKenna Biegler, Allison Chaffins, Danica Cristobal, Summer Derby, Jaymon Dietel, Tyler Grue, Josie Johnson, Addison Kiphuth, Madeline Kocherer, Kathrine Lemke, Brayden Rhea, Koen Schlangen, Hadley Schultz, Kaela Skistad.
Junior Honor Guard members will be lending a hand with this year’ s graduation ceremony, helping to facilitate the proceedings. These are 11th-grade students who currently have a 4.0 GPA and who are on track to be next year’ s valedictorians in the Class of 2026. They are: Alexandra Andrist, Hannah Chaffins, Calvin Chang, Mackenzie Cotten, Courage Daranijo, Julia DeChene, Alta Donnay, Jordan Goerz, Nicholas Green, Alisha Grue, Lauren Hansen, Hayley Henke,
Annaleah Jones, Koleson Ketchum, Ellie Koprek, Isabel Mahoney, Isabella May, Ruby Minder, Meah Morris, Eve Nygaard, Claire Paumen, Abby
Ruda, Addison Ruda, Linnea Tapper and Samantha Voll.
Following commencement, the senior class will then head to Monticello
Middle School to celebrate with the chemicalfree, All-Night Graduation Party, which is sponsored by parents and a number of supportive community businesses.
Graduating seniors were also honored at two other recent events this past month. On the evening of Wednesday, May 14, MHS hosted the Senior Awards Program. A series of student scholarships were announced and Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Industry awards were presented, recognizing various academic achievements. In addition, the annual Baccalaureate Program was held in the MHS Performing Arts Center on the night of Wednesday, May 28.
