A 1903 home combines historical elegance with contemporary efficiency

Called “Bide-a-Wee”– a Scottish phrase meaning “stay awhile” – by its original
owner, this striking example of Early Classical Revival architecture is as inviting
today as it was in 1903, when it was built. It was recently updated by architect
Anne Jaffe of Bethesda, Md., and Premiere Contractors of Montclair, who
focused on retaining its nascent elegance while installing new electrical wiring,
plumbing, insulation, and energy-efficient windows.
