By mid-�008 , though , Sanfilippo was e�hausted by the effort involved in keeping her company running , with just one kitchen assistant to help her with the planning , prepping and shopping needed to cook , label and deliver her products .
Sanfilippo had already been studying nutrition , partially on her own as well as with the CH�K Institute . Determined to learn more about her craft , she went back to school to get a Holistic Nutrition Consultant certification from Bauman College in Berkeley , California . She also began working with clients one on one , teaching nutrition seminars and co-hosting �00 episodes ofaweekly health radio show , ��e �alanced �ite� �odca�t . Itwas also during this time that she wrote her first book , �e� �or� �ime� bestseller �ractical �aleo .

In �016 , Sanfilippo launched her first food product line , Balanced Bites Spices . The colorful containers of organic spice blends , which can be purchased on her website , feature recipes from her books . This launch was followed by two written works�

I also love visiting the library and WATCHUNG BOOKSELLERS and have been back for booksignings as an adult , which has been alot of fun . �

In late �018 , Sanfilippo was offered the opportunity to make her nutritionally balanced meals inspired by �eto ��ic��tart available to consumers in ready-made , frozen form .
This business deal led to the current incarnation of Balanced Bites , which inJanuary �019 went on sale nationwide . Just as with her organic spices and line of gluten-free granola , these dishes may be purchased online for home delivery .
Consumers can opt for individual meals , as apre-set bo� or as customized “ build-a-bo�es .” They can also subscribe to plans that deliver on aregular basis �for e�ample , every other week . Recipe options are updated constantly� recent offerings include slow-cooked orange beef and chicken cottage pie , alongside “ classics ” barbecue pulled pork and spaghetti s�uash Bolognese bake .
