Eclectic is the Motto
The walnut table and chairs pictured above were designed by mid-century
modern furniture-maker Dunbar. Also embodying the home’s eclectic decor is a
vintage art deco clock made of two kinds of marble, and a stone sculpture, in
honor of the family’s two cats. The antique mirror (at left) has an interesting
provenance. Salvaged from an Atlantic City hotel that was razed to make way
for a casino, it was given as a gift from a local businessman to Firestone’s mother
when she was elected mayor of Bordentown. The striking Arts and Crafts-era
landscape to the right of the mirror was purchased from Montclair’s Nest &
Company. ■
