So much sunlight pours through the windows of the master bedroom due to its eastern exposure that Grochowski had pockets created for shades . “ Nature isthe art here , so we wanted to continue to feature it with a background that ’ s clean , simple and soft ,” she says . The fabric on the chairsare blue and soft purple with a little iridescence , and the custom pillows bring in the colors present in the rug . The bathroom has an extended mirror over the double-sink vanity so the reflection of the outdoors can be seen when the homeowners soak in their freestanding tub . The details add up to a lovely “ right-scaled ” home , says Grochowski . “ It ’ s not the size of the house ,” she says , “ but how we honor it that ’ s important .” ■
