SECRET PASSAGE
( Clockwise from left ) The kitchen to the left of the screen area features an elegant iridescent tile wall that is balanced with a single large window above the sink . Less noticeable : a paneled secret door ( at left in the image ) leading to a large pantry with ample shelves and an additional refrigerator . The stools from Lepere are covered in stain-resistant fabric ; their lower backs permit a full view of the kitchen . ( Top ) The island has a marble top and waterfall edge , and is from Peter Brooks Stone Works . ( Above ) Grochowski worked with Reimnitz to create aglass wall of one fixed and two sliding panels with screen . “ The idea is you can open up the house to the outside ,” she says . The limited number of mullions dividing the glass and the cable railing on the deck allow for a sweeping view . The custom dining room table was made in Canada , and is paired with woven cotton Eames chairs and a custom rug from Lepere . The hoop pendant light fixture is from Global Lighting .
