Acouple relocating from the Midwest to the East Coast , where their grown children lived , saw the potential in asmall Montclair home with abig view . But it needed alot of work . They started working with architect John Reimnitz , and found they needed a building variance . Then , after contractor Classics Reborn turned the architectural drawings into reality , the couple needed to furnish the home so the exterior and interior shared the same aesthetic . For that , they hired interior architect Rachael Grochowski , founder of RHG A + D .
The furnishings and fixtures had just been installed , and the furniture was just starting to arrive , when “ everything closed down for COVID ,” says Grochowski . But if the couple had to shelter in place , they were in the right spot .“ The space is so integrated and open to nature and peaceful ,” she says , “ that it was helpful in relocating at such an unusual time .”
