routinely sell for more than their asking prices. “Some buyers live in
Montclair and are moving up, but a
big percentage come from the city
and Hoboken, with one or two kids,”
says Brigitte Van Note, Director of
Sales at Halstead Property in
Montclair. “They’re young, both work,
and they don’t have time to renovate.”
With supply low and demand high,
the new homes are almost always
situated on land freed up when lots
are subdivided.
