they want to approach their treatment,” says Dr. David St. Ledger. “Teeth
are only one part of the equation; there is a lot of information in the
mouth that can help determine the best course of treatment for a patient.”
“Rather than fixing a tooth here and a tooth there, we evaluate the entire
craniomandibular system: your teeth, gums, bone, ligaments, jaws joints,
and musculature,” he says. “We have a comprehensive focus when it
comes to practicing dentistry.”
The long-time staff members of Upper Montclair Dental Associates work
in tandem with Dr. St. Ledger and his associates to assure that they create
an inviting and safe environment for the patients. “The success of this

says Dr. St. Ledger. “They are key to providing exceptional, personalized

with our patients.”
A graduate of Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in
1994, Dr. St. Ledger is a strong believer in continuing education. He is
currently affiliated with the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental
Education in Key Biscayne, FL, but more so Spear Education, an Institute
for Advanced Dental Education in Scottsdale, AZ. He is committed to
furthering his expertise and sharing his knowledge with his patients and
fellow dental professionals. Dr. St. Ledger maintains Visiting Faculty
and Mentor positions at Spear Education. He is also a Moderator for
Spear Education’s online Campus, as well as a Contributing Author
for Spear Digest. Whether he be teaching in the three-day hands-on
workshops in Scottsdale, writing articles, or providing guidance for other
dentists across the globe in a safe learning environment within the online
forums, Dr. St. Ledger is engaged nearly on a daily basis in his and others’
pursuit for personal and professional growth and development.
From routine cleaning and fillings to more complex procedures and
cosmetic rehabilitation, Upper Montclair Dental Associates offers a wide
array of services including custom-mad e devices for those suffering from
bruxism (teeth grinding) and temporomandibular disorders (TMD), as
well as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and snoring problems.
An Attending General Dentist and Clinical Professor at Mountainside
Hospital, Dr. St. Ledger takes pleasure in teaching. “Educating my patients
is something I do every day,” he says. “I attain great satisfaction out of
getting patients above the level that they use to understand themselves.”
He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American
Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and The Western Essex Dental
Association, where he served as an officer for four years and as President
in 2002 and 2003. He was selected by peer review to the International
Association of Dentists and Physicians.
Dr. St. Ledger was chosen by Montclair Magazine as one of the region’s
Top Dentists in three successive years; and in 2014 NJ Top Docs
acknowledged him as a Top Dentist for General/Restorative Dentistry.
