Entrepreneurship
As an entrepreneur, it is important to keep personal finance in the forefront. I always hear people say it takes money to make money, which I have come to learn is very true. If you have an idea you are passionate about turning into a reality I say go for it, just expect to invest in yourself. On average it takes about $2,000 - $5,000 to start a business. My advice is to find free and cheap alternatives that are offered to students. For instance, if you are needing to make contracts, make an appointment with the student legal services office rather than paying to see an external lawyer.
Once business and money begin to come in, it is advised to continue to invest in your business. A mistake made by many young entrepreneurs is pocketing the money they make. Instead of paying yourself first, allocate it to taking your business to the next level. That might be something as simple as creating a new website, or getting new pictures taken. The possibilities are endless!
