It’s okay to change your mind when you learn new information. You may have an idea in your head right now of what you want to study, but once you actually dive into the material your feelings may change. And it’s not because you’re lazy or flaky or betraying all of the work you’ve done in the past, it’s because you know more now than you did before. Don’t be beholden to the idea of needing to enter a career because it’s what you’ve always wanted to do or family expects of you. The junior high version of you knew nothing about what it was like to be a music teacher, so you should never trust their opinion over the version of you that’s spent time studying music education and decided it’s not what you really want.

Rebecca-

I wish I would have really understood how financial aid worked and scholarships, loans, etc. I also wish I knew how to brand myself as a college professional to help me know who I am as an individual. One more thing I wish someone taught me about the ins and outs of college( hang out spots, orgs, trips, best teachers, etc).

Asia-

I wish I took advantage of all the resources offered by UNT while I still had the free time. With each year free time becomes more rare. Freshman year is definitely the year to get involved and get the most out of everything that UNT has to offer.

Mo-

I wish I remembered that school came before having fun. It's ok to have fun, but don't forget that you’re here for an education, Don’t forget about that. Because if you do, the 0 will be fat.
