The teams proposed several alternatives to achieve financial sustainability to enable continuing to serve the B40 group and extend their reach across Malaysia . Key highlights are outlined below .
Rental of digital devices : To ensure that everyone has a digital device as a way of moving forward . In the short term , Connect . ED may create a website or application platform for lessors and lessees to come together and rent laptops or computers depending on the lessees ’ needs .
Selling and leasing pre-loved books : To venture into selling and leasing preloved books to place books into everyone ’ s hands while cultivating a reading culture .
Educational workshops and online tutoring programmes : Organising educational workshops , including digital upskilling , work-ready skills , leadership talks and online tutoring programmes . In the short term , Connect . ED can provide job opportunities to individuals who wish to earn a side income .
How can The Empowerment Group ( TEG ) sensitize mid-level / senior managers in Malaysian SMEs on developing emotionally responsive , sensitive and inclusive work environments for their employees ?
The teams proposed detailed strategies and collaborations to solve mental health issues in the workforce . Key highlights are outlined below .
Mental Health Training & Education : To train and educate managers to recognize the indicators of mental health problems and respond appropriately , regulate mental health risks and promote employees wellbeing .
Partnerships : To form a partnership between TEG and SME Corporation Malaysia , a central coordinating agency ( CCA ) under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives ( MEDAC ) to enable the development of a mental health training program targeted to the mid-level or senior managers of SMEs
Change in Management Style : To alter ways to assess managers where incentives are given to managers who develop emotionally responsive environments for employees .
Mental Health Awareness Campaigns : Once every three months with management to host multiple mental health related activities for their employees , providing incentives to employees who participate in these events .
