Strengthening ESG Awareness and Practice Another key initiative is a partnership with Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, formalised through an MoU in 2023. Starting with the SME ESG Symposium, this collaboration has grown into a research study exploring the challenges and opportunities SMEs face in adopting ESG practices. |
Beyond research, the School’ s Authentic Assessments platform also creates meaningful engagement. Co-designed with industry partners, these assignments allow students to work on real sustainability challenges faced by SMEs.

Looking ahead, Associate Professor Karren shared the School’ s vision for a future SME Impact Lab that brings together industry, academia, and policymakers.“ SMEs are recognising the long-term value of responsible business. Through collaborative initiatives, we aim to empower them with sustainable practices for lasting impact,” she said.
