The association’s Young Lawyers Division
also spends time volunteering at a wide
variety of area non-profit agencies. During
Law Month in May, the division visits
classrooms to educate students about
the legal profession. All of these initiatives
show the association’s desire to enhance
its community involvement.
“This December, we will once again host
“Operation Dear Santa” in partnership
with Friends of the Poor, where we
purchase gifts for over 100 children,”
Munley said. “The children are hosted at
a party where they are fed, create art, and
have a visit with Santa Claus. Santa gives
each attendee a beautiful gift, a book
and dental supplies. This program has
expanded and has been able to provide
beds, mattresses and bedding.”
Anyone in the region seeking legal
help can contact the Lackawanna Bar
Association and receive the name of an
attorney practicing in the area of law in
which they need representation.
“We strive to deliver quality programs to our members
and to serve the needs of the community,” she said.
“The purchase of our building on Penn Avenue is an
investment in the City of Scranton and demonstrates
our commitment to the continued revitalization of
Downtown Scranton and providing ample resources
for our members and those we serve.”
