The Chamber recently hosted its 149th Annual Dinner at the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple .
The Annual Dinner presents the region ’ s business community with the opportunity to reflect on the past year . A video presentation of highlights was given by Chamber President Bob Durkin and Board Chairman Mark Volk and a special recognition of service was given to David Hawk of Gertrude Hawk Chocolates .

“ We really are back ,” Mr . Durkin said . “ Northeastern Pennsylvania is back . Lackawanna County is back . Scranton is back . All we have to do is continue to pull together and row in the same direction . We know it ’ s going to be fantastic moving ahead .”
This year ’ s event also featured Philadelphia Eagles long snapper and America ’ s Got Talent finalist Jon Dorenbos , who gave an inspirational magic performance to the crowd of more than 500 people .
“ Our words become our reality because they become the core of what we do ,” he said . “ The longer we let the past affect our future , the longer our future stands still . Believe that you can make a difference , because every one of us does .”
