PennDOT Supports Local Charity
AAA North Penn Takes Pledge
The management staff at AAA North Penn recently took the pledge against
distracted driving by signing a personalized pledge card. The pledge is a new
public awareness campaign that equates using handheld cell phones and other
electronic devices while driving with the established dangers of drinking alcoholic
beverages and driving. The official campaign is called “Don’t Drive Intexticated.”
The Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) District 4-0
employees recently collected Easter
baskets for the annual Friends of the Poor
Easter basket giveaway.

United Way Honors The Dime Bank
The United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties recently recognized The Dime
Bank with its Platinum Hand Award for its commitment to the community through
corporate giving, as well as an Award of Excellence for its commitment to the
community through employee giving. It also recognized the bank for its continued
support of the Focus On Education Tax Credit Program.
The Dime Bank recently honored
employees who celebrated five-year
incremental career anniversaries with
the company. This year’s honorees were

Beilman, 30 years; Karen Brown, 35 years;
Lisa Cavage, five years; Sue Keesler, 20
years; Gail Ketcham, five years; Raynell
Lenz, five years; Barb Marsciano, 15
years; Justin Mikolaski, five years; Simone
Palmer, 15 years; Donna Sangster, five
years; Cheryl Smith, 35 years; Lisa Steiner,
15 years; Michelle Urban, 15 years; and
Amanda Waldron, five years.

Local Education
Community Bank, NA recently presented
checks to both the Diocese of Scranton
and the United Way of Lackawanna
and Wayne Counties in support of
their educational efforts as part of the
Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC)
tax program.
