MEMBER NEWS Allied Services Honors Staff Allied Services Integrated Health System recently honored the contributions and successes of volunteers, employees and managers from various divisions at their bi-monthly “Miracle Maker” luncheon. Lackawanna County Library’s Bookmobile Awarded Gold Star Library The Lackawanna County Library System’s Bookmobile was recently recognized as a Gold Star library in the Pennsylvania American Library Association’s PA Forward program, which recognizes five categories of literacy. As a Gold Star library, the Bookmobile provides programs and services that can be sorted into one or more categories. This honor was largely made possible by the Bookmobile’s attendance at Lackawanna County-based events, including the Art in the Parks, Family Fun Days, and National Night Outs. The LCLS Bookmobile is the first of its kind to achieve Gold Star status in this program. This center streamlines Geisinger’s cardiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery and vascular services and is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of 52 physicians, advanced practitioners and support staff. The newly-designed space, located at Geisinger Community Medical Center, boasts two nursing stations, comfortable exam rooms, an ultrasound room, a registration and check out area, and staff offices. 10 • The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce Vincenzo’s Pizzeria LEADERSHIP LACKAWANNA TOMORROW’S LEADERS TODAY PROGRAM: Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton Hospice of the Sacred Heart recently delivered more than 600 Thanksgiving meals to their at-home patients and their families. This was the 12th year that Hospice of the Sacred Heart provided this service. Meals were packaged and delivered by hospice staff members and volunteers.
