SLIBCO Receives KOEZ
Extension
The Scranton Lackawanna Industrial
Building Company (SLIBCO) recently
received approval from the Pennsylvania
Department of Community and
Economic Development (DCED) for the
extension of benefi ts under the Keystone
Opportunity Expansion Zone (KOEZ)
process as of Jan. 1, 2018 and continuing
through Dec. 31, 2024.
The extension applies to land owned by
SLIBCO located in Archbald, the Valley
View Business Park and Scott Technology
Park. KOEZ status exempts businesses
from most Pennsylvania state and local
business taxes including, but not limited
to, property tax, the business privilege
tax and taxes on net profi ts from business
activity conducted within the zone.
SLIBCO would like to thank the
Lackawanna County Commissioners, as
well as Archbald and Jessup boroughs,
Scott Township and the Lakeland and
Valley View school districts for their
assistance in obtaining this extension.

Gilmartin is a shareholder with Stevens
and Lee and focuses her practice
on litigation issues in the areas of
construction, toxic torts, product liability
and catastrophic casualty, banking,
insurance, manufacturing and complex
commercial litigation. She represents
owners and developers, contractors,
subcontractors and material suppliers,
as well as colleges and universities,
banking institutions, local government,
manufacturers and insurance companies
in a wide range of litigation matters. She
is board-certifi ed by the National Board
of Trial Advocacy as a civil trial advocate.
As published in Philadelphia magazine,
Gilmartin was recognized as a
Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2009
through 2015 by being selected by her
peers as among the top fi ve percent of
lawyers in the Commonwealth. She also
was a Northeast Pennsylvania Business
Journal’s Top 25 Women in Business
honoree for 2010 and is a co-chair of
The Scranton Plan.

responsible for the construction of 16
business parks and more than 3,000
