Chamber Names
New Workforce and
Entrepreneurial
Development Specialist
The Chamber recently welcomed Brianna
Florovito of Jermyn as its new workforce and
entrepreneurial development specialist.
The Chamber celebrated the one year anniversary of Township Trading Co. in
South Abington Township.
Scranton YP welcomed State Rep. Kyle Mullins as principal speaker for its
“Lunch with Leaders” event at Marywood University.
In this role, Brianna will focus on joint economic and workforce development
strategies through the Chamber and its affiliates, including the Scranton
Lackawanna Industrial Building Company (SLIBCO), The Scranton Plan and
Skills in Scranton. She will focus on the development of workforce strategy
and planning, as well as the integration of these initiatives with economic
development activities, further promoting the Chamber’s overall mission of
attracting, sustaining and growing businesses within Lackawanna County.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Rutgers University and
has studied at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She has
previously worked for Educational Data Systems, Inc. as a business services
representative and is a graduate of Valley View High School.
Scranton YP hosted “Escape This” at Electric City Escape.
The Chamber hosted a Member Welcome Lunch, where more than 50
members had the opportunity to discover how their membership could help
their businesses.
Skills in Scranton recently hosted a week-long industry immersion
experience of its Educators in the Workplace program, focusing on advanced
manufacturing. The businesses that hosted the educators are Sandvik
Materials Technology, Cintas, Process Technologies & Packaging, Hendrick
Manufacturing, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics.
The Chamber hosted a Meet Up for Lunch at Andy Gavin’s .
The Chamber, in partnership with McNees,
Wallace and Nurick, hosted a Business Breakfast
Briefing on I-9 compliance.
The Chamber hosted an International Women’s Day celebration at Glenmaura
National Golf Club .
