MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT / CEO
Dear Chamber Family ,
Can you believe that
February is here already ? With the arrival of February , there is much on my mind . In addition to the start of National Heart Awareness Month , the start of February means the beginning of Black History Month .
As the first black president of the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce , I cannot understate how much inclusivity is vital to myself and the chamber in this day and age . One of the chamber ’ s primary goals for 2021 is to promote equality of opportunity in both the business world and our overall community .
As you all probably know by now , the chamber ’ s motto since 2020 has been that we are Stronger Together , and inclusivity is essential to this philosophy . People often wonder what are the benefits to inclusion , and my answer is a simple one : that it helps with business retention and improves the quality of life .
As the president of the organization dedicated to economic and business prosperity , both my staff , your board of directors and myself want to create a business community that is friendly to people of all walks of life . By making League City and its surrounding regions a place that welcomes all , it will increase the amount of people who will see our region as a place to relocate and start businesses . These new businesses will create jobs , which furthers economic development , and improves the quality of life in our community .
To say we are Stronger Together means championing diversity and inclusion . As a black man and a Christian , I encourage all people to live by my philosophy of loving thy neighbor . Unity is everything in our community , and especially essential if we are trying to succeed in both our personal and business lives .
I am excited for what 2021 has to offer as we host many events that embody our embrace of diversity and inclusion . The chamber has great plans for this year and I feel that we are headed in the right direction as we make our chamber and business dreams a reality proving just how much we are Stronger Together .
