Several weeks ago our Chamber issued an invitation to all of its members to attend a presentation about a new program called“ The Local Project”. We were curious and attended to find out what this new opportunity had to offer. To be totally honest we didn’ t expect much! However, we went anyway. And are we glad that we did! We couldn’ t enroll Select Marketing into this program fast enough. For us it was a“ No Brainer”. We are usually cautious about getting involved with new things until we are certain that it will be good for our business. We were convinced about this, and convinced quickly! The internet is the most astounding marketing tool ever devised by mankind! That is a bold statement but I believe it to be true. What I learned at this Chamber workshop makes the internet even better.“ The Local Project” uses the internet concept; however“ The Local Project” makes it much better for local communities as a whole! " The Local Project " promotes opportunities for local businesses to connect with local residents and visa versa. It acts and functions as a localized internet. The process for this can be found in an APP. This FREE APP is named " The Local Project ", and it is available at the APP store of your choice. The Local Project Benefits Users: When you download this APP you will have the ability to become a User and connect with local businesses. The User selects which businesses to connect with and can disconnect from any business at any time. It is totally the User ' s choice. Once a connection is made by a User to a business, the User can now receive periodic text messages notifying the User of a special event or perhaps special pricing on a product from that business. A few examples could be; 1) A Hair Salon that you connected with is offering $ 15.00 off any Cut & Style today or tomorrow only. 2) A Restaurant that you connected with is offering a Buy One Get One FREE Meal until 6:00 pm today. 3) A Sports Bar that you connected with is notifying you that they just installed six additional Big Screen TV ' s for your viewing pleasure. The Local Project Benefits Business: When a Business enrolls in The Local Project they will have the ability to create a Profile describing their business. Location, hours of operation, products, and / or services provided are just a few of the things that Users can learn about their Business. Each Business selects a business category so they can easily be found by Users.

A Business can offer specials to the General Public of Users through the My Feed & Offers sections. They can connect with their VIP or connected Users by Text Message. This allows the business to be seen by folks aware and unaware of their business. Download the APP and look around at all the details and benefits that The Local Project APP and program has to offer. This is open to all businesses within the LAN( Local Area Network). The Local Project will be administered by The League City Regional Chamber of Commerce. However, you DO NOT need to be a Chamber Member to participate. It is open to all businesses! How cool is that! The Local Project Benefits Community; When community groups such as The Lions Club, Rotary Club, Volunteer Fire Department, First Baptist Church, and Neighborhood Crisis Center enroll into The Local Project it expands their ability to connect to the community they serve. All of these groups are encouraged to enroll and participate at NO CHARGE! They can post about an upcoming event that they are sponsoring. They can ask for assistance in some area of need. They can promote their services to folks who are unaware of them. The Local Project is opening up in twenty six states and over fifty LAN ' s( Local Area Network). The goal is to be totally national within two years. Everywhere that you travel that has A Local Project LAN, you can benefit from their offers, events, and opportunities. Check out travel opportunities to Local Project LAN ' s prior to travel and make plans for special hotel rates, deals on meals, and cool things to do! This is the future getting closer and closer.
