The Tango Acropolis Festival is the annual cultural festival that hosts a variety of activities and gives tango
enthusiasts an opportunity to experience Argentine culture and discover how thise Argentine dance brings
people together.
Dancing movement contains an entire philosophy. It is
a living bridge of communication between people and
cultures.
Since 2011, Tango Acropolis has been organizing tan-
go events at important locations in Athens, such as the
Acropolis Museum courtyard, the archaeological site
of the Roman Agora, the Zappeion Megaron, and the

On the evening of the last full moon of summer, the
Acropolis will be flooded with favorite melodies by
great Argentine masters. The official Acropolis Tango
Festival opens withTango del Sur. The song speaks of a
yearning for a better life, filled with passion, compan-
ionship and love. Relationships that are transform into
music and dance.
This year, an exciting dance performance of the history
of tango was presented performed by the Argentine
dancer and choreographer Natalia Hills. This was her
first trip to Europe, and was exclusively for a single
performance at the Conservatory of Herodes Atticus.
Thousands of visitors attended the Tango Acropo-
lis, which includes music and dance performances,
photo and painting exhibitions, lectures on the
