Beauty  from  both  sides     Story  by  Brian  Thornton    Photos  ©  Cyndi  Salata/    Dixie  Pix  Photography   W  hen   Cyndi   Salata   of       An&och,   IL,   first   contacted   Modern   Model   Magazine,   it   created   some   confusion.   The   stunning   image   of   Cyndi,   in   a   swimsuit,   posed   against   the   sunset,   was   sent   with   a   cap&on   asking  that  she  be  featured  as  a   photographer.    I  contacted  her  directly,   assuming  that  she  may  have  just   selected   the   wrong   category   box   ,   and   asked   her   to   clarify   whether   she   was   a   model   or   photographer.   Her   simple   answer  –  she  is  both.    “Having  always  been  an   ar&s&c   person,   in   2012,   I   added   self-‐taught   photography   to   my   already   varied   repertoire,”   the   model   turned   photographer   explained.  “I  love  to  photograph   just   about   everything,   but   my   favorites   include   s&ll   life,   animals,   scenic   sewngs   and   lifestyle  photos.”     As   a   model,   Cyndi   is   also   equally   talented,   defea&ng   the   common   concern   that   most   photographers   have   that   their   model   will   not   show   up.   If   that   happens   to   Cyndi,   she   can   always  just  photograph  herself.     “As   a   model   myself,   it   always   helps   to   prepare   ahead   of   &me,’   she   offered   to   other   models.   “If   there   isn’t   a   MUA   on   set,   I   have   everything   but   the   final  touches  done  before  I  walk   in  the  door.”   Modern Model Page 11
