“I
started
looking
for
other
things,
and
there
is
a
place
out
there
for
every
one
who
wants
to
model.
They
need
models
of
all
shapes
and
sizes.”

Ginger
Kewl
started
modeling
to
gain
confidence,
and
quickly
discovered
that
modeling
was
her
true
passion.
“I
started
modeling
because
I
was
having
self
esteem
issues,
and
had
a
lot
of
the
usual
doubts,”
she
explained.
“I
kept
thinking,
I’m
too
old,
I’m
too
fat,
nobody’s
going
to
like
me,
but
I
decided
I
can
do
this,
and
decided
to
try
it,
and
it
just
took
off.”
Amer
studying
some
of
the
industry-‐based
magazines,
Ginger
said
she
quickly
no.ced
a
trend.
“I
looked
at
Vogue,
Bazaar,
W,
and
all
of
the
models
in
the
adver.sements
were
all
young,
and
very
thin,”
she
said,
adding
that
this
ul.mately
did
not
discourage
her.
“Well,
I
don’t
fit
those
categories,
and
that’s
okay,
because
I
started
looking
for
other
things,
and
there
is
a
place
out
there
for
everyone
who
wants
to
model.
They
need
models
of
all
shapes
and
sizes.“
Entering
at
the
local
level,
Ginger
said
she
has
found
p h o t o g r a p h e r s

welcoming.
“I
haven’t
run
into
any
resistance
in
the
local
community
at
all.
The
photographers
want
to
work
with
you,
because
they
feel
everyone
is
beau.ful,
it
just
depends
on
how
they
light
them,
and
the
poses
they
put
them
in.”
The
shoots
and
events
so
far
have
all
been
posi.ve
and
fun,
Ginger
said.

Ginger,
who
also
likes
the
social
aspect
of
mee.ng
and
working
with
new
models
and
photographers,
hopes
see
the
fashion
and
modeling
industry
ul.mately
understand
that
there
is
life
outside
of
a
size
zero.
“Where
I’d
like
to
see
the
industry
go
is
more
real
life
models.
We’re
not
all
0s
and
2s.
The
average
size
woman
in
the
United
States
is
a
12
to
14.”
