taking
a
break
to
raise
her
family,
Terri
Galonska
decided
to
revisit
modeling
as
a
hobby
that
she
has
enjoyed
in
the
past.
“Before
I
got
married
and
had
kids
I
used
to
model,
and
for
my
40th
birthday
my
husband
decided
it
would
be
fun
to
do
a
shoot
for
my
birthday
present.”
The
shoot
reminded
her
of

a n d
encouraged
her
to
get
back
in
front
of
the
camera,
Terri
said.
“It’s
the
same
because
I
was
a
Marilyn
Monroe
look-‐alike
before
when
I
first
started,
and
I
picked
right
back
up,”
Terri
explained,
adding
that
age
is
the
only
addi.onal
new
obstacle
that
she
faces
re-‐entering
the
modeling
field.
Like
many
other
models,
Terri
has
learned
to
dismiss
the
industry
standards
that
try
to
hold
only
the
select
few
that
fit
a
narrow
category
as
models.
“I
don’t
agree
with
that,”
Terri
said
of
the
industry’s
standards.
“I
don’t
look
my
age,
but
I
don’t
fit
the
height
requirement,
and
at
5’3”,
I
would
have
to
wear
six
inch
heels
to
meet
that
requirement.”
While
other
models
work
to
conform
to
the
industry,
Terri,
following
the
path
of
beauty
and
self-‐worth
presented
by
Marilyn
Monroe,
is
comfortable
following
her
own
modeling
ideals.
“I
know
models
who
think
that
they
are
going
to
be
a
model,
and
they
do
what
they
have
to
do
to
fit
the
mold,”
Terri
said.
“But
I
am
who
I
am,
so
take
me,
or
leave
me.”
While
other
models
focus
on
the
rules
and
regula.ons,
Terri
focuses
on
assignments
that
will
allow
her

to
enjoy
modeling.
Gaining
experience
in
both
individual
shoots
and
group
events,
Terri
said
she
has
enjoyed
every
photo
shoot.
“The
best
event
I
have
modeled
for
so
far
was
a
weekend
modeling
shoot
that
was
a
two-‐day
shoot
in
Caseville,
MI,”
she
offered.
“We
shot
in
a
bar,
on
a
beach,
and
in
a
hotel,
and
that
was
really
fun.”
As
she
con.nues
to
model,
Terri
also
hopes
to
serve
as
an
example
that
models
can
be
beau.ful,
without
being
held
to
unrealis.c
industry
standards,
adding
that
models
should
focus
more
on
being
themselves,
and
having
fun.
