2016 COMRADES MARATHON QUALIFYING
Qualifying for the 2016 Comrades Marathon will be applicable from 30
August 2015 till 2 May 2016. Runners are advised that the 2015 Comrades
Marathon will not be an automatic qualifier for next year’s race. CMA Race
Director, Rowyn James says, “The CMA values the support of the clubs,
hence us aligning the qualifying period with our entry period and to start
with the local Mandela Day Marathon and inaugural Sizwe Irene Marathon
taking place on the 30th of August 2015.”’

COMRADES TEAM OUT
AT CAPITAL CLIMB
The CMA team hosted a fun-filled refreshment station at
the Capital Climb 15km race at World’s View on Saturday 15
August. Amidst the festive atmosphere, the runners enjoyed
refreshments and music, as well as good fun and smiles. It was
indeed a jovial time for the entire team, even during the cleanup session afterwards.
CHARITIES HANDOVER PLANNED
At the time of going to print, the CMA was getting set to do the
handover celebration to our official race charities on Wednesday 26
August at Comrades House in Pietermaritzburg. The Amabeadibeadi
Charity Drive supports six notable charities – The Community Chest
of Durban and Pietermaritzburg, PinkDrive, Starfish Greathearts
Foundation, The Sports Trust, Wildlands Conservation Trust and World
Vision. We’ll report back on this handover next month.
