WHAT’S NEWS South African Athletes making headlines all around the world RIP, Mbulaeni Ultra stars excel in World Champs On 24 October the sad news broke that retired SA 800m star Mbulaeni Mulaudzi had been killed in a car accident in Johannesburg. He won gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, bronze at the 2003 World Champs, gold at the 2004 World Indoor Champs, then went on to grab silver at the 2004 Olympics as well as the 2006 and 2008 World Indoors. In 2009 he added the World Championship title to his name in Berlin, and two weeks later ran his PB 1:42.86 in Italy. After retiring, he became involved in coaching and athlete development, particularly in the Limpopo province, and the crash occurred while he was on his way Ѽ
