AMAZING FEELING!
As I sit nearing the end of another year of what I can call maybe not the best
year of running, I can look back on various ups and downs, but it took an
unexpected injury to make me realise that running is now one of the joys of
my life.
I always dabbled in running, doing the odd 10km or 21km, but it took
my dad, who was always an inspiration to me to run, to challenge me to
run Two Oceans in 2013. I’d always dreamt about it, and thought why
not. It’s now 2014 and I’ve done 11 marathons, including two voyages at
Two Oceans and two Comrades. With guidance from my dad and fellow
runners, I got through it. I can honestly say it still feels a bit surreal that I’ve
done these runs, but I so look forward to the time with my dad and fellow
runners. It really is such an amazing community.
So I say to all of those who wonder if they can or would like to run, just
do it. It really is one of the most amazing feelings. One step at a time. You
