Comrades
The Big C is Here!
After months of hard training, the runners are ready
to run on 1 June 2014. From here, it’s all on you, the
Comrades runner, to experience the world’s greatest
ultra, the incredible support along the 89km route, and
the emotions at the finish in Durban. See you there! –
BY DELAINE COOLS
Thapelo Moseia: “I can’t wait to run my
second Comrades and first ‘Down’ after a
break from running for about five years!”
Champ Danie Prinsloo: “For all you firsttimers, the long wait is over! This is truly
the ultimate human race, and once you do
it, you’ll always want to come back.”
Yonus M Kaka: “It’s my second one. I
need that back-to-back medal. Also, I’m
very nervous for the day!”
Pieter Ben Steyn: “I’m looking forward
to the finish! I’m running with my daughter
and my son, who is doing his 10th.”
Faith Daniels: “For all the novices, your
first is always the most memorable race. I
cried when I finished my first. You will be
nervous, but the minute you start, you’ll
relax.”
WIN-A-CAR WHILE GIVING BACK!
A significant aspect of the 2014
Amabeadibeadi Comrades Charity initiative
is the Toyota Win-a-Car Competition, where
a brand new Toyota Corolla Quest will be
up for grabs on Comrades race day. This
competition has been a driving force for
Amabeadibeadi fundraising for a number
of years and sees thousands of Rands
channelled into the charitable fund each
year.
To enter the competition, sms TOYOTA
to 34068 (R1.50 per sms).
