I have an issue with this: If it wasn’t for us slow runners to “pay the bills,” events wouldn’t be possible. Us slow runners also train hard and prepare ourselves for a event. Some people work weekends and have to arrange months in advance to be able to attend an event, now two weeks before the event it just gets postponed. We all have to make choices in life, even if you’re an ‘ELITE’ runner. – Runnerstalk I have similar feelings about organisers who offer more prize money to the elites in order to grow their events.
