Sport signing a 10-year sponsorship agreement , it ’ s only going to get bigger and better every year .
At the front of the racing at Jeppe , the men ’ s marathon was won by Samuel Moloi from Ikhayalethu AC in a time of 2:20:43 , while the women were led home by Melissa Jansen van Vuuren of Hollywood AC in 3:09:42 . In the half marathon , the men ’ s title went to Lucky Mohale from Netbank in 1:09:29 , and the women ’ s race was won by Lebo Phalula of Boxer AC , in a time of 1:20:08 .
All entrants to the 42km , 21km and 10km were treated to a complimentary race T-shirt , and all entrants of all four races also received a goodie bag , medal and free digital race photos from Action Photo SA . All in all , the value for money that the Balwin Sport Marathon Series is offering participants is a real highlight on the racing calendar !
TIME TO SAY THANK YOU
As the host club , Jeppe Quondam Athletics members are not permitted to participate in the race , and all available members assisted on the day , either as marshals , at water points , or with any of the many other tasks involved in hosting a quality road running event . It should never be forgotten the amount of work and time that is involved in putting on a road race , and for this reason I would like to thank all the Jeppe members for their help .
I would also like to thanks Balwin Sport for believing in Jeppe Athletics and the history of our race . Without a title sponsor like Balwin Sport , races of this nature would not be possible . We also need to thank all the sub-sponsors , that make the day possible , and I ’ d like to say a huge thanks to Aquazania , 32GI and Capital Hotels .
