She adds that further prize money will be paid out to the top three finishers in the age categories 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Runners will be in awe of the splendour of the Mother City,” says Agne du Plessis, Stillwater Sports’ General Manager Road Running. “Both the 10km and 5km races will start and finish in front of the Cape Town City Hall, and other iconic landmarks on the route will include the Company Gardens, South African National Gallery, South African Jewish Museum and District Six, to mention just a few. The calming setting of the Company Gardens, serenity of the harbour and stunning views of Table Bay at the top of District Six will add a special ambiance to this much anticipated Women’s Day celebration. Entrants can look forward to a fantastic day out with family and friends.” Phindi Counts down to the Totalsports Women’s Race Durban For the seventh consecutive year, well-known SA radio personality, businesswoman and Mrs South Africa 2019 finalist, Phindi Gule-Burley, will celebrate Women’s Day by motivating runners and walkers at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban. “The Totalsports Women’s Race was the very first 10km race that I ran back in 2011, so this race will always be close to my heart. It made me fall in love with running and I have grown so much over the years as an athlete and broadcaster,” she says. “I cannot wait to salute every woman for being on the start line on 9 August,” continues Gule-Burley. “My goal is to encourage and motivate every single entrant. I really enjoy uncovering those heart-warming stories, and I also look forward to building the suspense as we wait to see which elite runner will cross the finish line first.” Sadie, F or the first time since the event’s inception in 2001, all three events of the Totalsports Women’s Race will be hosted on one day across three major cities.
