Cian’ s Voice

Dream Bigger

But, more importantly, keep dreaming.

And keep doing it!

If there was something I could take from April it is how alive running is as a sport in South Africa at the moment. There were races left, right and centre this past month, with community and club runs on every second corner in Joburg. At an elite level, there were performances that set both the road and track alight.

For someone like me, who is at the start of a running build-up, hoping to still make something good and big for the rest of the year, this last month of running has been very inspiring and motivating to watch.
Watching from the sidelines is a whole other feeling than being in a race. I felt this the most while running the Olympic Marathon last year. It’ s a strange feeling, running this huge competitive race and having to ask around at the end,“ Who won, what happened, was there a sprint finish? Recently I got to watch my boyfriend James Gerber take part in the South African Triathlon Champs and he truly smashed it. It was so good to be there to support him and watch the race unfold.
Watching the Totalsports Two Oceans gave me a whole lot of FOMO. I loved the race last year and would’ ve loved to go back and try to go for the win to better my second place from last year. Watching it this year was the kick-off to feeling very inspired. A little jump start as I got this new training block rolling.
I love how these big races bring so
