You can train for Deadly Dozen in your home garage gym, in functional fitness gyms like CrossFit Boxes and in more traditional gym chains like Virgin Active and Planet Fitness.
Deadly Dozen’ s 2025 race calendar for South Africa features ten track races from March to December, supplemented by“ in-gym events” throughout the year.
The next event is in Stellenbosch on Saturday 24 May 2025; a date for June’ s Pretoria event will be confirmed soon.
Deadly Dozen Race Format
Comprises 12 x 400m runs( journeys) and 12 x stations( labours). These are raced outdoors on athletics tracks, with the“ journeys” on the track, and“ labours” on the inner field. 1. 400m Run + 240m Farmer’ s carry 2. 400m Run + 60x Deadlift 3. 400m Run + 60x Lunge 4. 400m Run + 60x Snatch 5. 400m Run + 60m Burpee broad jump 6. 400m Run + 60x Goblet squat 7. 400m Run + 240m Front carry 8. 400m Run + 60x Push press 9. 400m Run + 120m Bear crawl 10. 400m Run + 60x Clean & press 11. 400m Run + 180m Overhead carry 12. 400m Run + 20x Devil’ s press
