After a voting process that included input from fans of the sport from all over the world , the 2024 World Athletics Awards ceremony was held in Monaco on 1 December , where the winners of the coveted Athlete of the Year awards were announced . – BY WORLD ATHLETICS
Olympic champions Sifan Hassan and Letsile Tebogo were recently announced as World Athletes of the Year at the World Athletics Awards 2024 in Monaco . Following a multi-faceted voting process , Hassan ( Netherlands ) and Tebogo ( Botswana ) received the top honours on an evening that saw six athletes crowned in three categories – track , field and out of stadium – before the overall two winners were revealed .
The voting process began with World Athletics compiling a shortlist of athletes in each category – track , field and out of stadium – and a first round of voting by members of the World Athletics Council , World Athletics Family and a public vote on social media saw each category reduced to two finalists . A final round of voting , cast by fans of the sport , then decided the overall winners

Out of Stadium Athlete of the Year

Rising Stars of the Year
Women : Sembo Almayew ( Ethiopia ) Men : Mattia Furlani ( Italy )
Surprised Winners
