Quality Control

The item we chose to evaluate was a white dress from Topshop. Immediately we identified that the simple fabric colour would mean it would easily pick up stains and would need specific care withhandling to ensure that the product could go on sale. This issue could be resolved by using a different fabric colour or even a stain repellent spray, which has recently come to market. This would decrease profit as tihe finish would need ot be added. Howver this would be a unique selling point so may atract more customers.

The fastening of the garment is clearly faulty and makes the garment unuseable. This design flaw could be prevented by using a differnt zip which is able to withhold more pressure or by changing the fastening type.

The lace detailing has broken in multiple places indicating its easily damaged. On the shop floor many garmens fall off hangers and people try the garment on, making it highly likely for damage to occur. If a customer still wants to buy the garment with knowlegde of the fault they are initled to a discount as its not as displayed. This is then reducing the profit of the brand. If this went to industry, the durability of many lace pieces would have to be tested to enusre that this would be as highly prevented as possible.

in this section we evaluate the state of a garment ad how any issues could be resolved within the insutry.
