1) Mean Girls
This movie how's the deleterious and disastrous effects caused by nonsense rumors spread among teenage girls in a high school. It displays the kind of rumors (usually negative) that are spread especially through a pink notebook called "The Burn Book" where bad things were written about particular students. There were also examples where the three main characters called each other many times and gossiped about what new things were going around in their busy school.
2) Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars is about four girls struggling to survive after their friend's death. It shows the effects and severity of how rumors can impact a group of people. Each of the girls lives are impacted widely while they are finding out who it is that's trying to sabotage their lives using violence, secrets, and of course, rumors.
3) Awkward
Awkward has a major scene when a rumor about Jenna (a high school girl) spreads around that she tried to commit suicide after a freak accident. In fact, the story wasn't true at all. Jenna was taking some Advils when all the pills spilled. Promising to clean it later, she then turned on her hairdryer and clumsily again, it fell in her bathtub but tripped from the pills across the floor and broke her arm. Jenna tried to recover and found out just how difficult it can be to recover from the lie and change everyone's minds.
