2.1 Fernvale Gardens School (FGS)
2.1.1 Curriculum Philosophy
In 2012, Ministry of Education introduced the SPED curriculum
framework: `Living, Learning and Working in the 21st century’. Like the
mainstream Singapore Teaching Practice, the framework aims to guide
the schools in providing quality teaching and learning.

While this framework guides the four MINDS (Movement for the
intellectually disabled of Singapore) in planning its curriculum, each
MIND school further creates their own unique framework to have an
owned identity.
For Fernvale Gardens, it is the HEART framework (H-Holistic
Development, E-Engage Partnership, A- Assessment for and of
Learning, R- Reflective Practice, T- Technology).
