How to look chic and carefree when the weather
is at its most capricious
Hilary Swank as Amelia Earhart in “Amelia” (2009)
EVEN AS CRISP SUNSHINE and twilight
evenings start to entice us from our winter
lairs, they pose one of the most enduring
fashion conundrums: how to look chic and
carefree when the weather is at its most
capricious.
This season’s silks, soft cottons, light
knitwear and loose jackets mean style
doesn’t have to come at the price of
comfort. But peeling layers on and off isn’t
always a great look.
Why not take a cue from some of the more
intrepid characters to have graced the silver
screen and embrace the call of the wild?
After all, if it’s possible to look good on the
side of a mountain or flying thousands of
feet in the air, Hollywood might also hold
the key to staying stylish this spring—even
if the makeup artists and special effects
aren’t included.
