INKLING FOR INK Tattooing is a global community so I’m definitely looking forward to doing guest spots and making new connections with other artists. I would love to visit the Canadian West Coast, the U.S., Australia, and Europe and I have certain shops and artist that I want to meet in many different spots. MI: W h at wo ul d yo u s ay t o anyon e w h o s ays t at t o o s t ake away f ro m a wom a n’s f e min in it y? HD: Every person is attracted to unique attributes in others. It can be certain looks and smells, and different people. Not everyone likes the same thing and there is something for everyone out there. Not all things are for all people. If you think tattoos take away from a woman’s femininity, I’m not going to tell you that you are wrong because it’s your personal preference but that’s all it is. Telling tattooed women that it makes them less feminine isn’t going to make the world a better place or stop them from getting tattoos. It also won’t stop the people that do like them from being attracted to them. People are better of focusing on what they do like and what they find inspiration and attraction in, instead of focusing on what they don’t. HD: Yes, we have been offering free nipple tattoos and scar cover ups for breast cancer survivors and transgender people who are in need of the service for the past three years now. There are so many people affected and left with scars that are a reminder of their struggle every day. And although in Canada many healthcare services are covered, the cost of parking for all of the hospital visits and the time spent in recovery Missy/Ink | Issue 18 82
