Greg Walter
Assistant Commissioner, Institutional
Services
Greg Walter joined the staff in January
2012 and is responsible for management of compliance and NCAA legislative
matters for the Missouri Valley Conference and Missouri Valley Football Conference and representing both conferences’ interests nationally. In addition,
Walter is involved with a wide array of conference governance
matters, including serving as primary liaison to selected MVC
standing committees and the MVC Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee, developing league schedules in a number of sports,
and overseeing administration of selected championships.
Walter came to the MVC after serving in the same capacity at
The Summit League. He had previously served as an associate
attorney with the international law firm of Winston & Strawn LLP.
Prior to his stint at Winston & Strawn LLP, Walter was Associate
Director of Compliance at the Big Ten Conference and was also
a compliance officer in the University of Utah’s Athletics Department.
Walter received a B.A. in biological sciences in 2000 from
Northwestern, where he was a member of the rowing team and
served as the team’s president during his senior year. He earned
a J.D. in 2003 from the University of Virginia School of Law, where
he served on the Senior Editorial Board of the Virginia Journal
of Sports and Entertainment Law and worked as a compliance
intern in the athletics department during his final year.
A native of Arlington Heights, Ill., Walter resides in Ballwin, Mo.,
with his wife Kate and two children, Erin and Jack.
Christina Pachuta
Assistant Director, Compliance
Christina Pachuta begins her first season with the Missouri Valley Conference
in 2013-14 as the league’s Assistant Director for Compliance.
Pachuta will assist with all aspects of
the MVC compliance program, including researching the application of NCAA
legislation and providing interpretations
and advice to member institutions; preparing rules education
materials; processing institutional violation reports; overseeing
the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program; assisting with the review of conference-administered waivers; and updating compliance-related portions of the MVC website. Other responsibilities
will include assisting with oversight of the Conference’s StudentAthlete Advisory Committee and providing support to MVC governance groups, sport committees, and championships.
Pachuta comes to the MVC after serving briefly at the University
of Kansas as a Compliance Specialist. In Kansas, she monitored
initial eligibility, amateurism, recruiting, and providing legislative
interpretations for all 18 sports. She also assisted in game day
operations and monitoring of camps and clinics while at KU. She
served in a similar capacity at the University of Miami (Fla.) from
September 2012 until moving to Lawrence in January 2013.
A native of Perry, N.Y., Pachuta was a compliance intern
at the University of Louisville and a part time law clerk at the
law firm of Lynch, Cox, Gilman & Goodman in Louisville while
working toward her law degree, which she obtained from the
University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in May 2012.
She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree
in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville in
2009 and was a member of the women’s golf team, which
earned Big East Conference Championships in 2007 and
2008.

kristin Gregory
Director of Sports Administration
A native of St. Louis, Mo., Kristin
Gregory starts her fifth season at the
Missouri Valley Conference after serving as a media relations intern for
swimming & diving, track & field and
tennis in 2009-10 and becoming fulltime in 2010.
At The Valley, Gregory handles all
sports information and publicity duties for cross country and
softball which includes weekly press releases and updating
the conference website. She oversees the operations of the
18 conference championships, including men’s and women’s
basketball, handles the conference awards programs, as well
as the Elite 18 program and is the officiating liaison to all six
officiating programs.
In 2013, she was the assistant tournament director for the
NCAA 2nd/3rd Round Men’s Basketball Tournament in Kansas City (hosted by the Valley), and she will serve in that same
capacity for an NCAA 2nd/3rd Round Men’s Basketball Tournament at Scottrade Center in St. Louis in March of 2014.
Gregory comes to the Missouri Valley Conference after serving as an intern for the St. Louis Sports Commission, where
she was actively involved in planning, coordinating and marketing of different events - most notably the annual Arch Rivalry Football Game (Missouri vs. Illinois at the Edward Jones
Dome).
As an undergrad student at the University of Missouri,
Gregory served two years as a RecSports Assistant Manager,
where she promoted facilities and programs and managed a
team of supervisors and officials for seven different sport programs.
She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in business
administration from Mizzou in May 2009, and completed her
master’s degree in sports management at Lindenwood Un ]?\??]H[????Z\?[?X^H?L???B?B??
