Missouri Valley Conference Staff
From 1988 to 1992, he was assistant sports information director at the University of Missouri, handling publicity for the sports
of volleyball, wrestling, men’s basketball, women’s gymnastics
and baseball. While at Missouri, he received 10 publications
awards from CoSIDA and served as media coordinator for five Big
Eight Conference championship events and an NCAA Gymnastics
Regional in 1992.
A member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing
Administrators (NACMA), Watkins and his wife Genny live in Creve
Coeur, Mo.
bryan belt
Assistant Commissioner, Business
Affairs
Bryan Belt joined the MVC in July of
2012 as Assistant Commissioner for
Business Affairs. At the MVC, Belt ensures that appropriate financial controls
are in place and applies sound techniques to all aspects of The Valley’s financial matters. He is responsible for
developing creative and effective financial strategies to help The
Valley achieve its conference goals and protect its assets.
Belt came to the MVC after previously serving as Associate
Athletics Director for Internal Affairs at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. While at SIUE, Belt served his alma mater in a
number of capacities. He served as head coach of the men’s and
women’s tennis programs as well as an assistant softball coach
at SIUE.
His duties as Associate Athletics Director included budget
planning, financial aid for student-athletes and an active role in
the athletic department’s future initiatives. Belt oversaw the dayto-day financial operations, as well as the department’s concessions operations. Belt also supervised all areas of event operations including sports information.
Belt graduated from SIUE in 1993 with a bachelor degrees in
recreation and accounting and worked 12 seasons as an assistant coach for the softball program. Belt also previously worked
as the director of operations for the St. Louis Ambush, a local professional soccer franchise, from 1994 to 1996. He spent three
years in the administrative accounting department at SIUE before moving into his role as the Assistant AD.
He and his wife Melanie have three children: Bradford, Chandler and Patrick. They reside in Smithton, Ill.
kelli briscoe
Assistant Commissioner,
Communications
A native of Warrensburg, Mo., Briscoe
enters her sixth season at the MVC.
As Assistant Commissioner for Communications at the Missouri Valley Conference office, Briscoe serves as the
primary media relations contact for volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s basket-
ball and baseball.
To that end, she handles all publicity for those sports, which
will include the production of publications, website maintenance,
and weekly releases.

In addition, Briscoe oversees administration for the sport of volleyball, coordinates the league’s internship program, serves as a
staff administrator at a number of league championships, chairs
the Missouri Valley Conference’s Athletics Hall of Fame Committee
and organizes the men’s basketball Coach of the Year luncheon.
Prior to joining the Valley staff, Briscoe spent a year as an intern at the Western Athletic Conference in Englewood, Colo. At the
WAC, Briscoe was the primary media contact for women’s soccer,
women’s swimming and diving, tennis, and track and field. In addition to her media relations duties, Briscoe assisted in the overall
development and implementation of marketing and promotional
efforts for the nine-member conference.
Prior to her one season at the WAC, Briscoe spent one semester
as an intern for the Mid-South Conference in Louisville, Ky., where
she coordinated all aspects of the basketball, tennis and track and
field championships.
While earning a master’s degree in Sport Administration from
the University of Louisville (May 2007), she spent two years at
Nelligan Sports Marketing, assisting with various game-day operations and promotions for University of Louisville football and men’s
basketball events.
Briscoe received her bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness
from league member Missouri State in 2005, where she was a
member of the Bears’ volleyball team.
Derrick Docket
Assistant Commissioner, New Media &
Technology
Derrick Docket began his tenure with
the Missouri Valley Conference in October
2010.
As Assistant Commissioner of New
Media and Technology, Docket serves as
league’s point person for new media and
technology. To that end, he manages the
MVC website administration and maintenance and serves as the
internet point person for the league’s varied websites.
Docket also oversees the promotion and development of the
Missouri Valley Conference brand through the various forms of new
and social media, including, but not limited to, video and photo
content, video streaming, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blogs.
Additionally, he oversees the league video streaming program,
including the negotiation of production contracts, procurement
