west coast where we live and especially not in the morning.. Welcome to the tropical southern part of Holland! Jeez, the festival hadn’ t even begun and I was already sweating like crazy! Anyway, at some point we arrived( thank god) at the entrance to our‘ temporary home’ at camping B. We had to wait a while to get in, but luckily we found a nice spot to dump our bags, set up our cozy tent aka‘ festival house’. Then we grabbed a delicious cold coke( god bless my cooling bag!) while we were enjoying the warm sun and laughing at other people who had some serious trouble setting up their tent( HAHA suckers! No I’ m just kidding of course, poor guys). Most of all we enjoyed the fact we were going to have a great time with each other and that everything was going fine till now. It may be our first festival and neither one of us knew how this weekend would turn out, but hey; we would surely get through this with a smile on our faces. We were all set; PinkPOP could begin at last!
Day One
Friday 14th of June
After getting used to the camping area and – life we grabbed the few things we thought we should need, like tickets, money and you know what, put it in our backpacks and tummy-purses and took off to the actual festival area. Luckily some of the PinkPOP-crew members reminded us we still had to go get a tour wristbands, otherwise we wouldn’ t have been able to get access to the festival and our camping. Phieuw, thanks a lot guys! What should we do without you, bunch of helpful and wise people? With our new cool wristbands on, which by the way matched our outfits beautifully( they were popping pink) we continued our journey to the festival area. Ready or not, here we come!
The moment we walked in and saw the entire area we were stunned. WOW! Thousands, maybe even a million people, dressed in the most crazy outfits like morph suits, Pokémon- and animal suits, surrounded by hundreds of food and souvenirs stands, 2 huge stages and 1 large pink tent. This is going to be one heck of an experience! The band‘ Handsome Poets’ was already playing for a big crowd standing on the grass field that covered half of the place. After a while of looking our eyeballs out, taking everything in and trying to get accustomed to the‘ festival vibe’ we moved out to blend into the crowd standing in front of the Main Stage to watch Paramore perform. What an amazing feeling; dancing, loving the music and having a good time with your friends and a sea full of total strangers. And seeing famous singers / bands in real-life and
