IMPORTANT INFORMATION
OUR INSTRUCTORS
Our instructors are chosen for their knowledge,
maturity, leadership and ability to relate to children.
The vast majority of our staff are university students or
recent graduates, and many are studying to become
teachers in the Faculty of Education.
To ensure that we employ only the highest quality
staff and instructors, we provide three weeks of paid
training that includes everything from lesson planning to
epi-pen use. As well, all staff are certified in CPR and
First Aid and have clear background checks.
BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT POLICY
Above all, Mini U’s goal is for its participants to have
fun in a safe learning environment. To ensure that
everyone has fun, we do three main things.
VOLUNTEERING
AT
MINI U
1) Explain Our Rules: Classroom rules and our
expectations are clearly defined at the start of camp.
Participants are made aware that behaviours which
cause emotional or physical harm, disrupt the camp,
or damage facilities or equipment are not tolerated.
Is your 12+ year old child interesting in volunteering
for Mini University for the summer? Please e-mail
[email protected] or call 204-727-7376 for more
information.
2) Train Our Instructors: As part of staff orientation,
we train our staff in classroom management and
behavioural management techniques.
Brandon University is pleased to offer a residence
